Time sure flies by when you are having fun! We've been busy in 3B this month. This month we have been busy working on learning our addition facts to 18 with strategies to help us solving them. We've been having a lot of fun with our hand on activities in structures. Social Studies time has been spent discussing; communities, citizenship, rights and responsibilities. We've done some fun art projects including Matisse cut-out art. This art is featured on on our instagram account so be sure to check it out.

October will finding us; learning addition and subtraction strategies, continuing to work on our structures unit with lots of experiments, exploring the Canadian community, learning all about bees, and exploring warm and cool colours in art as well as the art of Wassily Kandinsky (Concentric Circles painting). We will, also, start using kidblog and twitter more frequently.

Have a great October!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back! The 2014-2015 school year is off and running. This year we have a class of 19 students. I will try and update this blog twice a month to let  the parents of 3B students know what awesome things we are up to 3B.

We have started our Friendship unit in Language Arts. We've, also, started Daily 5. We are currently practicing building stamina in our read to self. In math, we are reviewing topics from grade 2. In science, we have started to talk about structures and materials. Be sure to ask your child for some examples of structures. In social studies, we are talking about communities and citizenship,

Reminder: Please make sure you look at your child's agenda each night and have them reeturn it signed.

I am looking forward to an awesome year with the new group of 3B students!
